THE MAKING
From here on, the deft hands of the goldsmith take over. He inspects the design to decide how to craft perfection into the jewel unit. Working tirelessly, the goldsmith infuses life into the sketch, bringing alive a piece-de-résistance!
Another round of scrutiny by the designer and the goldsmith is important to determine whether the design has imbibed the finesse of workmanship and the aura of aesthetic appeal...
A similar process is followed with each piece of the design. Different pieces are then placed on a wax-base and soldered together. After the jewel unit is soldered, cleansed off wax and polished, the goldsmith delicately etches into the jewel, thin outlines to mark the spaces within which the gemstones have to be set.
Now for the skill of the Gem-setter who fits the gems into the spaces within the units and ensures that each gemstone is securely bound to the jewel. Bit by bit, the magic unravels, the sparkle dazzles… and voila, all separate element fuse together to shape into a completed jewel.
