CARAT

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond. Larger diamonds are special because they are found less frequently in nature. However, the size of the stone does not always provide an indication of its value. A large diamond can be valued at less if the cut, clarity and color are lacking. Diamonds of equal carat weight may vary greatly in brilliance depending on their symmetry and cut. Therefore it is important to consider all these factors when choosing a diamond.
